Welcome To an Unexpected Reading Adventure!

Welcome to an unexpected reading adventure. This one is like going somewhere you’ve never been and finding a playground for your curiosity, imagination and creativity. Although this book was initially intended for children, adults who have read the stories found themselves wanting to put their own  reactions to paper.

Along with the story-poems, you’ll find encouragement and information that is very valuable for children to be aware of and to notice in others. There are chances not only to build vocabulary and understanding, but to realize that one word can have numerous meanings, so that it is possible to be misunderstood.

Enjoy discovering your own ideas that are a spin-off from the short story-poems. Have the fun of letting your thoughts and reactions become written, illustrated, or constructed originals.

These are not bedtime stories, they are meant to keep you awake and smiling as you explore your own responses to the activities. The fun is waiting for you to discover. Enjoy the adventure.

Yours is a comforting voice during a challenging time. Your stories are charming. Each one is uniquely warm and inspiring, and the messages are uplifting for children and parents alike. The books deserve to be in homes across the country — and the world. They remind me of one of my all-time heroes:  Mr. Rogers!  They are kind, nurturing, and so encouraging.

They are fun to read. Both the writings and drawings are original. They are amazing.  There are so many things that could be learned. One student commented she was also learning about American culture.

The detail and care you’ve put in these stories is remarkable. I celebrated the wonderful wisdom those students reflected to me while reading your books.
